Actor Johny Wactor, known for his role in ‘General Hospital’, was shot in Los Angeles when he interrupted thieves trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car. The incident occurred around 3 AM on a Saturday when the 37-year-old actor approached three men in downtown LA. According to Johny’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, he had left work at a rooftop bar with a co-worker when he noticed someone near his car and initially thought it was being towed. A masked suspect then opened fire on him before fleeing the scene with two other suspects.
Scarlett added that her son didn’t even try to fight or stop the robbers, but they shot him anyway. According to the LAPD, paramedics reached the scene as soon as possible, and Wactor was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The police didn’t provide any description of the suspects, but Wactor’s family hopes they will be caught soon.
Wactor’s acting career began in 2007 on the hit show “Army Wives.” He has played various roles and has had a steady acting career for the past two decades. Some of his notable works include “Westworld,” “The OA,” “NCIS,” “Station 19,” “Criminal Minds,” “Hollywood Girl,” and the video game “Call of Duty: Vanguard.” In “General Hospital,” he portrayed the character of Brando Corbin, who was married to drug addict Sasha Corbin. He played this role from 2020 to 2022 until his character was written off later that year. He has appeared in nearly 200 episodes of the ABC soap opera.
Wactor’s agent, David Shaul, has praised the actor as a person, saying he was a moral example to everyone who knew him. In his statement, he said, “In the highs and lows of a challenging profession, he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be.” He further added, “Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on everyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever.”
Wactor’s mother, who remembers her son as a kind young man, also expressed her sorrow. His family’s heart is broken beyond repair by his sudden passing. He is survived by his mother, along with his younger brothers Lance and Grant.
