The shoe companies in India have witnessed immense growth in their sales and export earnings in recent years, all thanks to the footwear industry in India that continues to boom at a substantial rate. Today, India is the second-largest shoe producer and tenth-largest shoe exporter in the world. With the rising focus on technology and change in footwear production and the continuously effective support from the government, the top Indian shoe brands are expected to gain tremendous success in the domestic market and strengthen their competitiveness globally.

1. Bata

Bata

It is one of the largest retailers and one of the leading footwear manufacturers in India. Bata was founded in 1931 as Bata Shoe Company Private Limited. Also, the Batanagar manufacturing facility is also the first in India to have been granted the ISO: 9001 certifications. Today, Bata India has authenticated itself as India’s largest footwear retailer with a retail network of more than 1,200 stores countrywide. The stores are located in prime locations and can be found in all the metros, mini-metros, and towns.

2.  Liberty

Liberty

Liberty Shoes, organized in 1954 in Karnal, Haryana, is one of the biggest shoe companies in India and amongst the top five leather footwear manufacturers in the world. The company manufactures 50,000 pairs of footwear a day through its six manufacturing units and has built its presence globally, registering a yearly turnover of more than Rs 5 billion (US$ 80.3 million).

3. Paragon

Paragon

Paragon Footwears is one of the top Indian shoe brands. It started manufacturing in 1975. Today, Paragon’s total in-house production capacity is 400,000 pairs a day. Apart from in-house production, Paragon has also outsourced footwear production in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kottayam, Calcutta, and several other parts of the country. As a result, the total sales are approx 14,00,00,000 pairs each year. Paragon Group of Companies has four major ISO-9001 certified factories all across the country.

Relaxo Footwears Ltd. is one of the most successful shoe companies in India. Relaxo footwears brand gives a wide range of fashionable and comfortable shoes, slippers, flip flops, and sandals for women, men, and kids at an affordable price. Its headquarter is in New Delhi and has eight manufacturing units, Relaxo manufactures more than six lacs pairs of footwear each day. Relaxo footwear’s range owns a fine combination of comfort, style, and quality craft. There is a vast collection of fashionable, colorful, comfortable, and durable footwear for men, women, and children.

5. Red Tape

Red Tape is a leading manufacturer of footwear in India that has reached a global presence over the decades. Red Tape is specialized in men’s casual leather shoes, men’s formal shoes & men’s sneakers shoes based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Red Tape has emerged as a leader in the high-end fashion Footwear segment; its footwear range is produced in its in-house design studios in UK and Italy, with manufacturing them to International standards of quality and materials. Red Tape products are also being marketed globally through the company’s vast global distribution.

Hitz specializes in designing, manufacturing, and distributing mainly men’s leather footwear.

Lancer was established in 1989 and headquartered in New Delhi. Lancer runs its footwear production in its seven manufacturing plants with Delhi and Haryana as one of the top Indian shoe brands; Lancer’s portfolio of products includes the strong foundations of institutional strengths obtained from its deep consumer insights, cutting-edge Research & Development in the footwear industry, differentiated product development capacity, strategic brand-building, world-class manufacturing infrastructure, effective marketing and distribution network.

Lakhani

Lakhani Footwear Pvt. Ltd. is one of the largest producers of Sports Shoes, Beach Slippers, PU Injected Sports Shoes, PVC Injected Sports Shoes in India, with a total volume of 55.5 million pairs per year. To satisfy the individual needs of its customers, Lakhani Footwear has set up state-of-the-art plants in Dhar, Faridabad,  Haridwar, and Noida to manufacture Sports Shoes, Leather Shoes, Canvas Shoes, and EVA Slippers.

9. VKC

VKC

VKC, based in the Kozhikode district of Kerala state, is one of India’s biggest footwear manufacturers in India for both men’s and women’s footwear. It is recognized as one of the most prominent players in India’s organized footwear sectors. It is also the biggest branded PU footwear manufacturer in India. They regularly produce approximately 0.4 million pairs that making VKC is the Number-1 PU footwear producer not only in India but also globally. VKC also ships its products to GCC countries, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.

10. Tirumala

Tirumala Group is one of the top Indian shoe brands and the largest manufacturer and exporter of high-quality, fashionable footwear for men, women, and kids. Tirumala has global markets, including countries like the EU, USA, UK, etc. It also manufactures footwear products for many international brands such as Mango, Bershka, Tempe, Bimba and Lola Hoogenbosch, Lloyds, Arcadia Group, Esprit, Zara, and Topshop.
