Tata Group owns companies that are independently operated, they have separate boards of directors and shareholders, and the company functions under their management. So in this article, we will talk about all the companies owned by Tata.

1. Tata Consultancy Services

TCS is one of the biggest IT service companies in the world. It was founded in 1968, with its headquarter in Mumbai. It is a workplace for 5,09,058 employees. Another TCS campus is in Chennai. As per the market capitalization, it is the world’s biggest IT service company. Currently, the CEO of Tata Consultancy is Rajesh Gopinathan, who has been serving since 2017. 

2. Jaguar Land Rover

You may not be aware that an Indian multinational conglomerate owns this brand of luxury automobiles. William Lyons launched it in  2008. It is a part of Tata Motors Limited and acts as its subsidiary. Its headquarter is in England, and it’s a workplace for 39,787 employees. Thierry Bolloré is the CEO of this luxurious and sports car brand.

3. Tata Motors Limited

Founded in 1945 by J.R.D Tata, Tata Motors Limited is a multinational automotive manufacturing company. All types of vehicles like sports cars, vans, trucks, even military vehicles are manufactured by Tata Motors Limited. Its headquarters is in Mumbai, and 78,906 employees are working under it. Guenter Butschek has been serving as the CEO of Tata Motors Limited since 2016. 

4. Tata Steel Limited

Steel is the most widely used metal worldwide. Tata Steel Limited began its journey in 1907, with its headquarters in Mumbai. Jamsetji Tata founded it. This multinational steel-making company is located in Jamshedpur, India, and comes under the largest steel-making companies in the world. It is also deemed the most geographically diverse steel maker. T.V. Narendran has been serving as the CEO of Tata Steel Limited since 20217. 

5. Titan Company Limited

If you love carrying accessories like sunglasses and watches, then you must know about Titan Company limited. One of India’s most prominent personal accessories producers was founded in 1984 by Xerxes Desai. The headquarters is located in Bengaluru and has more than 7500 employees; it is also partnered with TIDCO. Currently, C K Venkataraman is the company’s CEO.

6. Tata Power Company Limited

Tata Power Company Limited is an electric utility company founded in 1911 by Dorabji Tata, and it is a subsidiary of The Tata Group. This company deals with the transmission, production, and distribution of energy. It is the largest integrated power utility in India. The headquarters is in Mumbai, India, and has 8613 employees; and currently, Praveer Sinha. is the CEO of Tata Power Company Limited.

7. Tata Chemicals Limited

This International Company deals with living, industry, and farm essentials and is one of India’s largest chemical companies. It was established in 1939, and its headquarters is in Mumbai. It serves in India, Europe, Africa, and North America. Ramakrishnan Mukundan has been serving as the CEO since 2012.

8. Indian Hotels Company Limited

The Tata Groups even serves into the hospitality business and operate a portfolio of hotels, resorts, spas, and safaris. It is one of the companies owned by Tata. It was established in 1899 by Jamsetji Tata, and its headquarters is in Mumbai, India. The revenue of IHCL is ₹4595 Crores, and Puneet Chhatwal is the current CEO.

9. Tata Communication Limited

Earlier, it was known as Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited and owned by the Government of India’s Department OF Telecommunication. It was established in 1986. Later, the Government of India sold it to the Tata Group. Since then, its CEO has been Amur Swaminathan Lakshminarayanan.

10. Trent Limited

Trent Limited comes under Tata Group deals with apparel, footwear, and accessories. It was established in 1998. Apart from clothing, it also deals with items for decorating homes. The headquarters is in Mumbai. Philip N. Auld. is the current CEO of Trent Limited.

11. Voltas Limited

This multinational company deals with home appliances, especially air conditioners; it was established in 1954 and collaborated between Tata Sons and Volkart Brothers. It is entirely under Tata Group, and the headquarters is in Mumbai. Currently, Pradeep Bakshi is the

CEO of Voltas Limited.

12. Tata Investment Corporation

This non-banking finance firm was established in 1937. It deals with long-term investments like equity and debt instruments. The company’s headquarters is located in Mumbai. Noel Naval Tata is the chairman of Tata Investment Corporation.

13. Tata Metaliks Limited

This Tata Steel subsidiary was established in 1990; it deals with constructing pig iron and ductile iron pipes. It has more than 390 employees. It runs in Kharagpur, India.

14. Tata Elxsi Limited

This company was established in the year 1989 by Joe Rizzi and concentrated on designing and engineering products for various sectors. The headquarters is in Bengaluru, India, and the company serves in Germany, Japan, France, Malaysia, the UK, the USA, UAE., South Africa, Dubai, and Singapore. Manoj Raghavan has been serving as the CEO of Tata Elxsi since 2019.

15. Tata AutoComp System

It was established in 1995 and dealt with manufacturing and selling car batteries, rearview mirrors, command systems, exhaust, emission control, engine cooling solutions. In addition, it has ten business partnerships with different auto component companies, and all these are done with them.

16. Tata Coffee Limited

A subsidiary of Tata Groups possesses Tata Coffee called Tata Consumer Products, and its headquarters is in Karnataka, India. In India, the Starbucks Company chain obtained their coffee beans from Tata Coffee as per an agreement in 2012. Chacko Purackal Thomas is the CEO of Tata Coffee Limited.

17. Tata Consumer Products Ltd.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd, with its headquarter in Mumbai, India. This company deals with fast-moving consumer products. It is deemed the world’s second-largest tea producer and distributor. It was established in 1962 and has 2689 employees. The revenue is ₹9749 Crores, and Sunil A. D’Souza is the current CEO of Tata Consumer Products Ltd.
