Since the launch of 5G in India last October, telecom operators like Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have expanded their 5G coverage in 50 Indian cities. While this released updates for most Android users from their Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), for Apple users, the 5G Network was limited to iOS 16.2 beta users. But not anymore! Apple users can now enjoy a 5G experience as the company has finally rolled out an iOS update for Indian users. To be more specific, Apple iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and similar compatible devices are now equipped with iOS 16.2, which enables 5G compatibility.
Prior to this rollout, selected Airtel and Jio customers with Apple devices participated in the iOS Beta software program to try 5G devices. Through this new rollout, Apple is collecting feedback from users and solving any possible issues before the final rollout. Apple collaborated closely with its Indian carrier partners to provide the best 5G experience to its users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance were completed. iPhone with real-time 5G connectivity offers users super-fast downloads, uploads, better streaming, as well as to stay in touch, share, and enjoy content.
The 5G support on the iPhone has extended to over 250 carrier partners in over 70 markets worldwide. For Indians, this new update would accelerate the early adoption of the 5G experience. At this point, major smartphone players are working closely with cellular network providers to enable 5G services in India. Reliance Jio and Airtel have already rolled out 5G experience in major metros like Delhi, Mumbai, etc.
